Emmys 2010: The Best Celebrity Beauty Looks on the Red Carpet

January Jones, Christina Hendricks and more.

If I could invent an award for the best red carpet hair and makeup at the Emmys last night, there's no question: the Mad Men ladies would be a shoo-in.

Here are the beauty looks you need to see:

January Jones

I probably heart January's look the most. This is the haircut of the moment! Probably it was achieved with some sort of texturizing product, and by gently wrapping the hair around a flat iron or curling tongs. But gosh, doesn't it look so darn effortless? Also note the fuller brow, hint of powder blue shadow and loooong lashes.

Christina Hendricks

Can we all just appreciate how Christina really owns her unique brand of beauty? The whole point of her makeup is to draw attention to that skin (which clearly has never been baked, fried, boiled, etc., in the sun—it's glorious!). I also adore her blue-grey shadow application. The finishing touch is the coral lipstick, which picks up on tones in her hair, and pulls everything together.

Kyra Sedgwick

Kyra Sedgwick at the 2010 Emmy Awards.

Kyra is 45 and I love that she hasn't injected away her wrinkles. That hot pink lipstick is smashing... and her wavy hair is just gorgeous.

Claire Danes

Claire Danes at the 2010 Emmy Awards.

Claire was rocking some fantastic, glamour girl waves. And check out those lashes! She's now repping Latisse, so they're not even falsies.

Stephanie Pratt

Stephanie needs a makeunder. Too tanned and too blonde... and the black eyeliner and chalky pink lipstick are so harsh. Some mattifying primer would also be a good investment.

Lo Bosworth

I'm not feeling Lo's updo—it's too high and a bit aging, I think. I'd rather see softer, looser, more touchable hair.

Keri Russell

Is that a flower or a scrunchie? This looks so '90s... and like Keri is going to the prom!

Who had your favourite (and least favourite) beauty look on this red carpet?
