Q: I'm contemplating cutting my hair. My hair is naturally curly like Mel B, but I straighten it most of the time.

Michelle is contemplating a short haircut.

I've had it long and it's usually pretty flat. I would like to cut it short, like Halle Berry or Rihanna, but not sure it'll look good... maybe I'm just afraid to commit!

I'm looking for a style that brings out my features a bit more. Can you give me some suggestions? Thanks so much! — Michelle

A: Michelle, I am always trying to keep it real with hair. Especially super-curly hair, because of the toll it takes from all the styling required to smoothen it out. The damage is a real problem and often after straightening for a while, you get so much breakage.

So I think a short cut would be incredible on you, with your natural curl quite cropped.

Very short, curly hair.

You could go for a longer Halle cut as well, but it will be more styling work than this option.

There will be no worry about breakage here.

I like this side swept bang option for you as well.

That said, a polished look always makes a woman feel another kind of real. For a smooth style for you, I see this as an option.

It is not far off the texture in your photo, so this should be familiar.

I am also digging this knotty idea for you as well.
