Q: I want to change my hairstyle for a fresh look, since I've had the same style for years. My hair is medium length, very fine and thin.

Alina wants a fresh update for her fine, colour-treated hair.

I have naturally black hair but I tried to permanently colour it several times, which is why it's dry and damaged. Could you please tell me what hairstyle would suit me? Thank you. — Alina

A: Alina, I refuse to critique your current look because there is nothing I can say to improve on your hair.

Regardless of the condition of it, you seem to keep it looking very smooth and polished. You already have a good sense of what suits your face with balance and proportion.

So my take on a complete change of length and colour would be as follows...

Rounded bob with bangs.

You are a perfect candidate for this super-modern cut.

This placement of the colour and the tones would be unique for you.

Rounded bob with bangs.

It will also frame your eyes and bone structure in a new way and draw the focus to your lips.

A side-parted bob or long bob would be a less radical shift.

If you'd rather keep it long, a low-commitment change would be getting crisp, blunt ends.
