If you've spotted Megan Fox lately, you might have noticed she looks strangely different compared to just a few years ago, when she first rose to fame.
The 'Transformers' star is now 27, and I have to confess, I thought she was older. Partly because it seems like she's been in the public eye forever, but also because of her newly plumped-up features—which you don't expect to see on people her age.
Here's how the whole transformation went down, and then let's talk about it!
Megan in 2005
Back in the day, 19-year-old Megan had super-arched, skinny eyebrows, and yes, pitted acne scars. I point this out not to make anyone feel bad about having them—but just to say, look! Even the most beautiful women in the world aren't perfect, either.
In this shot, Megan actually looks younger. Her eyes are very beautiful, but it's funny—she just kinda looks like a normal teenager!
Megan in 2007
By 2007, Megan was on her way to becoming a household name, and her styling got an upgrade. Check out the exaggerated brows! Her lips were still a normal size at this point.
Megan in 2008
It was around this time that people started calling Megan "the poor man's Angelina Jolie." Remember that? There are similarities, but Megan's beauty is much more in-your-face. The biggest change here is the increase in the size of her lips!
The makeup is softer in this shot, but the brows are as harsh as ever (I suppose that was more the trend back then). Megan's acne scars are still faintly visible; I think she later had them resurfaced.
Megan in 2009
Megan had a "make-under!" I'm much more into this fresh-faced, natural look. Sure, her brow shape could still use some refining, and her skin texture's not perfect, but she looks absolutely radiant and beautiful. She looks so much younger with less makeup (she was 23 here). Alas, it was not to last...
Megan in 2010
Here's the photo you've been waiting for. Megan looks almost cat-like, thanks to all the filler! I think this happens when the Restylane is used in an attempt to "lift" the face (it doesn't work). And it's not just in her cheeks; there's also a ton of it in her lips, and I'm guessing Botox in her forehead. Keep in mind, she was ONLY 24 at this time!
Megan in 2011
Thankfully, things calmed down a bit by 2011. This is how we know it wasn't scary cheek implants! Filler lasts about six to nine months, so I think some of it is still here; her cheeks still look a bit inflated although not quite as insane. The lips are pretty much back to normal. Another thing that's interesting is her skin. I'm sure she's wearing tons of makeup, but it seems like her acne scars are much improved and she barely has any freckles anymore. Probably she had some kind of laser resurfacing like Fraxel.
Megan in 2012
Megan's transformation into a glamorous Hollywood star is now complete. This is a totally different look to what she was putting out there before—a major upgrade. I love the hair and makeup. Although the fillers are back, I think she got a much better doctor this time. Her lips and cheeks look full, but not ridiculous anymore. I think she's kept up with the Botox as her forehead looks as tight as a drum.
Megan in 2013
Once again, Megan looks different. Is it that she lost the baby weight? Or more cosmetic tweaking? I wonder! Her face looks narrower, and there are some fine lines on her forehead, which could mean that the fillers and Botox are dissipating. But I also see a more petite nose, if you compare to 2005. I think she may have had a surgery there at some point. Also note how she is wearing less foundation than ever. Those laser resurfacing sessions paid off!
Update: Megan in 2014
It was back to the fillers in 2014, along with a heavier makeup look (and too-light foundation!). She was still only 28 at this time!
There's no denying that Megan has an entirely different look these days, compared to her fresh-faced younger years.
In a way, her rise to fame can be attributed to these very cosmetic changes, which created an exaggerated, aggressively sexy vibe.
What does a surgeon say? "Megan appears to have had some cosmetic procedures to her face," Dr. Matthew Schulman told Radar Online. "While she has probably not had anything major, I suspect that she has had a nose refinement and some facial fillers."
Things just went too far in 2010, when the overdone fillers started to detract from (rather than enhance) her natural beauty. Thankfully, she has eased up now, but it's a cautionary tale. Too many injections can easily make you look older, not younger.
Now, if only more dermatologists and plastic surgeons would get that message!
