Haley Bennett's Peach-Stained Lips are Everything - The Skincare Edit

Haley Bennett's Peach-Stained Lips are Everything

Ignore the dress, focus on the (amazing) makeup.

Ever since Bill busted out a picture of up-and-coming actress Haley Bennett for a recent hair consultation, I've been intrigued. She's not only super-gorgeous, but a quick Google reveals that she's also experimented with loads of different beauty looks and hair colours, including this red wavy updo.

Now the 26-year-old is a blonde, as evidenced by her recent appearance in Toronto to promote her new film, 'The Equalizer'. A slightly brassy blonde who maybe isn't making the greatest wardrobe choices yet. (Really not feeling that dress.)

But nevermind the fashion, because the makeup part is soooo good.

Can't stop staring. Can you? She just has such an interesting look to her—and it's not the usual generic Hollywood blonde. While I did prefer her with the red hair, she definitely gets away with this colour. Ideally, it would be best toned down a bit, her skin tone still looks like peachy perfection.

And speaking of peach, I'm going to zoom in for the close-up so you can really appreciate the lip colour:

OMG, these are the prettiest lips I've seen all month. And I was JUST talking, in my NFYW trend report, about how stained textures are the new movement in lip colour. Haley couldn't provide a better example. We're seeing less high-shine and more soft (but not dry) mattes, just like this.

My beauty sleuthing turned up Kara Yoshimoto Bua as the makeup artist behind this look, and I can tell you that she used Chanel products here. I don't know the exact ones, but I'm going to make a pretty educated guess. I think this is the new Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour, and in the shade 43 La Favorite. Basically the ultimate soft matte coral.

It looks far more orange than it really is on the lips. Again, you want to just press this in with your fingers to get a soft look.

As for the rest of the makeup, Kara did matching flushed cheeks and tone-on-tone shadow, with only the upper lashes emphasized. Notice the champagne shimmer at the inner corners, on both upper and lower lids. I think it's nice to have a mix of textures on the face like that, especially since the lips don't have any shine.

Here's how it all came together:

Do you love this as much as I do?
