Joe Fresh Oil-Free Moisturizing Day Cream

As if it weren't awesome enough to be able to buy clothes at the grocery store, now Canadian fashion and beauty brand Joe Fresh is getting into skincare. This is a huge deal, my fellow Canadians. Huge!

And it's not just any skincare line, either. Yes, the products are affordable—just like everything Joe Fresh—but they're also made with naturally-derived ingredients and feature luxurious textures and chic packaging. How great is that? No wonder we love this company here.

While the range landed in stores in September, I've been testing out the nine products since I got my hands on them in the summertime. Let me tell you, one of the BEST things they made is the Oil-Free Moisturizing Day Cream.

I'm always being asked by people to recommend a good-quality, affordable moisturizer that's suitable for most skin types (and not too rich nor too greasy). Well, you are looking at an excellent option right here:

Orange packaging makes a big impact.

Love the fun orange outer packaging, and inside, you get a very glam jar:

Pretty luxe, huh?

I don't know about you, but the jar totally surprised me, as it's something you expect from high-end lines. This sells for $16, can you believe it?

Inside, the formula has a creamy but lightweight texture (almost a cream-gel but not quite):

The formula is creamy and white, but not heavy.

It also has a pleasant fresh scent that's not overpowering.

Here, you can get a sense of the texture. You don't need to use much, and it spreads easily before sinking in pretty quickly, without any greasy residue.

A little goes a long way.

Even though it's oil-free, you get a lot of hydration—certainly more than most oil-free moisturizers I've tried in the past. I think oil-free moisturizers are a fantastic option for anyone with normal to combination or oily skin, and should be plenty hydrating for you to use all year-round. (If you are drier, or feel you need a bit more replenishment in the winter months, Joe Fresh also has a regular oil-based Moisturizing Day Cream, as well as a Night Cream.)

Here's the ingredients list:

Aqua, aloe barbadensis (aloe) leaf extract, glycerin, cetearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, PEG-150 sereate, steareth-20, stearic acid, glyceryl monostearate, ethylhexyl palmitate, cycolpentasiloxane, dimethicone, tocopherol, cetyl alcohol, palmtoyl oligopeptide (and) palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, leuconostoc/radish root ferment filtrate, rosa canna (rose hip) extract, ubiquinone, camellia sinensis (green tea) leaf extract, cucumis staivus (cucumber) fruit extract.

So they're not calling it "all-natural," but there are a lot of natural ingredients in here, such as the aloe, rose hip, green tea and cucumber extracts. I also love glycerin and tocopherol (vitamin E) for skin, and you even get a dose of anti-aging peptides! The cetearyl and cetyl alcohols are fatty alcohols, and not something to be concerned about (as they're considered safe and non-irritating even for sensitive skin).

Full disclosure: I'm actually helping out Joe Fresh with some media this fall to spread the word on their new skincare range—but this is NOT a sponsored post! I simply think this product is a fantastic and very well-priced (as is the rest of the line) and wanted to tell you guys about it. Would love to hear what you think!
