Drew Barrymore on the Launch of Flower Beauty in Canada

Watch the actress-turned-beauty mogul chat about her new cosmetics line and why she's "not fabulous." (Did I mention we met?!)

Drew Barrymore at the Thompson Hotel in Toronto in November 2014.

You guys! I met Drew Barrymore.

Never in a million years thought I'd be typing THOSE words. But yes—this job is insane sometimes, and it did happen. (I'm going to spare you the photo documentation, because as usual when meeting famous people, I've got that crazed "can't-believe-this-is-happening" look in my eyes. It's not cute.)

But yes, Drew Barrymore is officially the coolest celeb ever, because she actually hung out with us when she was in Toronto this month for the launch of her cosmetics line, FLOWER Beauty.

By hang out, I mean all of us beauty eds gathered at Colette, the fancy new French restaurant in the Thompson Hotel. Then Drew walked in and made the cutest five-minute speech (which I'll be sharing with you in just a second) before chatting, mingling and taking a photo with every single one of us. Every. Single. Person.

How awesome is that?! Never before in the history of celeb beauty involvements have I seen something like this. Usually, you have to jump through a million hoops, security, etc., to even get in their presence.

Here's what Drew was wearing:

Drew Barrymore's chic look for the Toronto launch of FLOWER Beauty.

I couldn't get over how great her skin looked—it's super-flawless and dewy, in the way that makes you think celebrities must have different genes to normal people. She was wearing all FLOWER Beauty makeup, of course, and notice the fun pop of blue rimming her eyes, with a peachy lip. Her blonde hair was pulled into a cheerleader-style ponytail.

You can't see the rest of the outfit, but she paired the navy and white stripes with slim-cut black pants and high, high nude heels. I want ALL of her jewellery.

Ready for the vid now? Here's how Drew addressed the beauty crowd:

She's just so likeable, it's crazy!

You can totally tell we were all mesmerized:

Later, when we met one on one, she told me to "never lose that glow." The other details are fuzzy ('cause like I said, I get starstruck big time), but I take it she was telling me not to wear too much makeup. But just a little bit. Of hers, natch.

Speaking of which, I suppose I should give you a few more details on FLOWER Beauty itself, since that's the entire reason Drew was here! The line, which first launched in January 2013, is available now at Walmart and Walmart.ca (as well as Walmart.com in the U.S.), and consists of a whopping 64 different products, not including shade options. Counting all the colours, there are more than 170 items to choose from. Unheard of for a celeb line!

My first impression was wow on the packaging:

It almost reminds me of Tom Ford, with the chic white and metallic colour scheme. You would never guess that everything is priced around $7 to $10.

Some of the highlights, which I can't wait to try, include these lip and cheek chubby sticks:

FLOWER Beauty Kiss Me Twice Lip & Cheek Chubby

The velvet lip chubbies (one of Drew's fave products):

FLOWER Beauty Lip Suede Velvet Lip Chubby

More chubbies... the highlighter sticks (Drew also wears these):

FLOWER Beauty Glisten Up! Highlighter Chubby

The super-pretty shadow quads:

FLOWER Beauty Shadow Play Eyeshadow

Cream blush:

FLOWER Beauty Win Some, Rouge Some creme Blush

The stick foundation (another Drew must-have):

FLOWER Beauty Skincognito Stick Foundation

And the three-in-one (volumizing, curling, lengthening) mascara:

FLOWER Beauty Zoom-In Ultimate Mascara

Everything is cruelty-free, made in the USA—and like Drew said in the video, formulated with the same ingredients used in luxury makeup.

I want everything!
