Across the pond, the British Fashion Awards took place on Monday night, bringing out all the beautiful people—like Emma Watson, Alexa Chung, Rihanna, Cara Delevingne and so many more.

Who had the best hair and makeup look? Let's see:

Emma Watson

My girl Emma has the BEST skin, no? I dream of achieving this perfected texture that's neither matte nor dewy nor (most importantly) caked with foundation. The statements here are the side-swept waves in a sleek, deep side part, and the creamy-matte red lips. Flawless and effortless, as per usual.

Alexa Chung

Alexa Chung ditched her signature cat eyes and instead went for a cheery red lip to dress up her face, pairing it with barely any blush or mascara. And a rumpled hair texture, too. Part of me feels like she could've tried harder, but I also love how understated this is.

Rihanna

Sometimes I wish Rihanna would just let us enjoy her beauty—like this pretty ballerina updo and the nude makeup–without distractions like the under-boob tattoo and the cut-to-the-waist jacket. But I guess that wouldn't be too pop star-ish. For once, I'd just love to see her with a more pared-down, model-esque style.

Cara Delevingne

Speaking of models, Cara Delevingne is still rocking her new brown hair colour. But instead of a messy braid, she went all straight, sleek and tucked behind one ear. No lipstick (or even balm, it looks like), but tons of brown eyeshadow up to the brows and under the lower lash line. Few people can carry that off and not look like they just got punched... so careful trying this at home, kids!

Karlie Kloss

Oh, wow. Now that her famous bob is growing out, and she's gone blonder, I think Karlie Kloss is looking the best she ever has. You can totally see the Victoria's Secret influence—more bombshell, less runway. I suppose that explains the eyelashes at the outer corners. (Why, Karlie?) Meanwhile, I'm extremely envious of her hair texture. Also notice how un-groomed her brows are at the outer edges... interesting.

Olivia Palermo

Olivia Palermo has excellent, excellent hair. Love how she didn't do anything special with it here, just kept it straight and shiny with a strong middle part. Her skin looks incredibly glowy, though maybe a touch too makeuppy. Great job on the smudgy, shimmery smoky eyes.

Rita Ora

Is there a lighting issue? Why does Rita Ora's skin look so yellow? More so than her chest does, at least. I also much prefer her in lighter makeup, like we just saw at the American Music Awards. With the platinum hair, darkened brows and black smoky eyes, this look is heavy and harsh. Not a fan.

Kylie Minogue

Love Kylie Minogue, but why does everyone talk about Nicole Kidman and her Botox? Kylie's face is basically as frozen—and she always has this eyebrow Spocking issue on the one side. (See it?) Even still, she looks good here, especially with that pretty flip in her hair. The woman also has a fantastic hair colour, i.e. not too blonde. The coral pink lipstick is très flattering.

Anna Kendrick

Well, this is pretty... but boring. I feel like Anna Kendrick could've, should've done something to spice things up, especially since she's got so much room to play with above the strapless neckline. Between the sleek updo, stud earrings and super-subtle makeup, it's just sooo conservative. A red lipstick might've been an interesting contrast with the pink dress. Thoughts?

Suki Waterhouse

I'm not feeling it for Suki Waterhouse today, and usually I do actually like her style. But her skin seems blotchy and red (a problem I share, so I sympathize). And I don't like all that brown eyeshadow. I'm not saying we have to be matchy-matchy, but her warm makeup doesn't harmonize well with the cool blue dress.

Naomie Harris

Now, here's someone who can do the no-makeup look and still seem totally polished. Naomie Harris made her flawless, poreless, insanely good skin into the beauty statement, just adding a slick of clear gloss and some natural lashes. With the soft blowout and dangly earrings, this was a great choice for her busy dress.

Michelle Dockery

It's so great to see Michelle Dockery in an unexpected lip colour—pink and matte! (Though yes... she could use some lip balm on top for the dryness.) I also like her natural skin finish, and defined lashes. Hair seems a bit unkempt, but it could just be the shadows here. Overall, I really like this compared to many of her past looks.

Lily Allen

What made Lily Allen think that pink devil horns would be a good accessory choice for a fashion event? But that's not the only questionable thing going on here. There's the faded red hair colour (nowhere near as good as dark brunette was on her), the orangey-red lipstick and the wrinkled baby blue dress. It's as if she deliberately chose the least flattering things possible.

Kendall Jenner

I feel like every time we see a Kardashian without heavy contouring, it's an achievement. And so Kendall looks good here. Nice to see her in a bright red lip, strong brows and somewhat toned-down lashes. She seems to always do this same thing with her hair, parting it down the middle and wearing it behind both shoulders.

Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding's hair looks so fluffy, I wanna touch it. I think she knows what suits her, sticking to a nude makeup look and long lashes. It's too bad about the over-drawn brows.

Nicole Scherzinger

I'm not sure about this berry lipstick for Nicole Scherzinger. It sort of overpowers her, and with the big hair and tightlined eyes, feels a tiny bit dated. Know what I mean? I think if she'd kept it to just mascara, no blush and with her hair all scraped back, it would've worked better. Shay Mitchell, who has similar colouring, did vampy lipstick better at the Teen Choice Awards

Tamsin Egerton

I love this. Tamsin Egerton reminds me a little bit of Emma Watson, with the fresh skin, defined lashes and the hit of soft but bright colour on the lips. And the blonde hair actually works quite well with dark roots to match her brows. I might've brushed out those waves a little more, however.

Mollie King

Yellow foundation aside (again, maybe it's the lighting?!), Mollie King looks like a supermodel in these slicked-back waves with drier lengths. I was JUST interviewing celeb stylist Mark Townsend the other day and he was saying it's all about this hairstyle right now. Looks great with strong brows and red lips.

Laura Haddock

Laura Haddock went for a classic English rose look here. Vintagey waves, rosy skin, black liquid liner with NO flick and a pretty berry lip stain. You can see the difference in how the Brits do it versus the Americans—I prefer this! Really sweet and pretty.

Charlotte Gainsbourg

Last up, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and now we get to see the French way. Maybe a little too unkempt, though I like her lashes. I think if her hair was styled more sleekly, this would be a lot better. And something more on the lips, please. They look like they might crack in this weather.
