The Cult Tata Harper Stress Treatment That Doubles as Perfume

Finally, a fragrance that does more than just smell good!

Tata Harper Aromatic Stress Treatment

Last time I wrote about the Tata Harper Aromatic Stress Treatment—a.k.a. the cult aromatherapy rollerball that I've been wanting to get my hands on FOREVER—I don't think I did it justice.

So let me just say. This little vial of goodness has lived up to expectations and then some.

You see, I initially just wanted one of these because, well, it's Tata. A cult natural skincare brand with super-luxe packaging? Er, that's exactly the kind of thing that gets beauty editors all excited. (What can I say? When our jobs involve an abundant supply of mass, drugstore products crossing our desks... we want what we can't have.)

I'm also a huge fan of natural and organic fragrances, so I had a feeling I'd probably be into this essential oil blend.

And I am. It's not the kind of scent that guys would necessarily care for—it's not really "sexy"—but I love that it's so earthy and clean-smelling, without any fake, headache-inducing synthetic notes. (Everything Tata Harper makes is 100 percent natural.) I find it smells even better after a few minutes on the skin, versus straight out of the bottle. It's seriously yummy.

So that being said, I was quite happy to own this so-called Stress Treatment as a perfume alone. I didn't even consider that it might live up to its other claims, as aromatherapy. The promise? That it "can help dispel anxiety and stress and promote relaxation."

Amazingly, I've experienced this to be true. Watch Tata herself in this video demonstrating how to use the product:

The Skincare Edit Recommends

Basically, it's like a mini spa getaway right from your desk. I've been using it whenever I feel a bit overwhelmed by deadlines, and somehow, it makes everything seem okay. Whether that's legit or just in my head, I don't know... but I don't care, because it's helping!

These are the key notes and benefits:

  • Linden Blossom: deeply calms with its sedative properties
  • Rose Otto: gently alleviates anxiety and strengthens the inner spirit
  • Fresh floral Neroli: uplifts and soothes the nerves; can help alleviate panic attacks, hysteria and shock
  • Frankincense: deepens the breathing and relaxes mind and body

And these are the ingredients:

Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Sambucus Nigra Fruit Extract, Aroma**, Citral, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool, Methyl Eugenol

As mentioned in the vid, there are several others in the line besides the Stress Treatment: the Irritability Treatment, the Bedtime Treatment and now, a Love Potion, too. I've smelled them all and Stress is my favourite, probably because I tend to love neroli notes. I also like that it (and Irritability and Bedtime) are in jojoba bases... Love Potion unfortunately is in sunflower seed oil, and you know how I feel about that.

If you're looking for a new scent, are into natural ingredients and want something that'll do more than just make you smell nice, then I can't recommend this enough! Add it to your Christmas list ASAP.
