There's a New Urban Decay Naked Palette, and It's the Best Deal Yet

Naked On The Run might be the smartest way to get in on the Naked craze.

Urban Decay Naked On The Run

If you've been waiting to pull the trigger on one of Urban Decay's famous Naked palettes, then the perfect time is... right now.

Naked On The Run is the brand's latest Naked offering, which Nathali mentioned recently as part of our Beauty Editor staff holiday picks. At the time, I hadn't seen it in person, but it quietly arrived in the post a couple days before Christmas (thank you, Urban Decay!) and is even more covetable in real life.

Covetable in an "I'd-actually-use-this" way, though. Not too-pretty-to-touch covetable, which my friend Janine explained here. I've got way too may of THOSE types of palettes. Naked On The Run is practical—a workhorse of a makeup palette, if you will!

Here is the outer tortoiseshell-look packaging, with metallic rose gold lettering and trim:

I really, really love the chic look of this thing.

Then, it opens up to reveal all these wonders inside:

Inside the Naked On The Run palette.

So you get travel sizes of the Perversion Mascara and the 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil—one of my favourite waterproof pencils that I use all the time. This shade is Stag, an ultra-versatile dark brown. Then there is a full-sized Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss, which has a lovely balmy feel, in the shade Sesso, a rosy pink.

In Eyeshadows, of course you get lots of amazing neutrals to suit any colouring—and all exclusive to this palette. In the row of five, there is Dive (shimmering metallic rose gold), Fix (matte taupe), Resist (metallic taupe), Dare (matte mid-brown) and Stun (shimmering metallic golden bronze). In the bottom row on the far right is a larger portion of 5050, a bisque-coloured eyeshadow that can be used all over the lids.

Last of all, there is a bronzer and a blush. The bronzer is a matte medium brown, and probably the only thing I wouldn't use in this palette, since I'm not really a bronzer person and it's too warm for my pale skin tone. But the blush is pretty—and fortunately goes on more sheer than its vibrant pink colour in the pan.

Now let's talk about the cost. It's $64 in Canada ($54 in the US), the same price as Nakeds 1, 2 and 3. With those palettes all you get is eyeshadow, whereas Naked On The Run has everything you need to do your entire face. I know which one I'd choose. You?
