Besides the Grammys, there was another important red carpet event on Sunday night—the British Academy of Film and Television Awards, a.k.a. the BAFTAs.
Here are the hair and makeup looks from Britain's biggest event in cinema:
Red on red—how refreshing! Plus, Julianne just looks so happy here, we need to give her extra red carpet points. Her hairstyle is the most gorgeous I've ever seen on her, a fluffy, touchable take on vintage Hollywood waves. I'm not sure about the purple tones on her eyes (and probably the upper inner lids should've been filled in), but I think the berry lipstick choice was perfect. It brightens up her face, but isn't too matchy-matchy with the high collared red dress.
Felicity did her signature beauty look of soft curtain bangs with subtle smokies and a pretty pale lip colour. One thing I've noticed about her is that she keeps her makeup really, really understated—no harsh or bright colours, nor strong lines—and yet, it still makes a big impact. Wish more celebs would understand this!
Has Keira ever been as beautiful as she is this red carpet season? Those pregnancy hormones are no joke! Here, she is mostly wowing me with her hairstyle—these big, glam S waves are so cool (and so much better than the dated Kardashian-style waves of the '00s). Makeup is just perfect. I love the tawny flush on her cheeks with matching lipstick and smudgy brown waterlines.
Léa is such a beauty chameleon, she can do edgy and quirky—and then turn around and blow us away with Hollywood glam. Like this look, featuring a smooth, curled-under lob with a deep side part. Her makeup is bold but fresh: red lips, defined lashes, a bit of subtle bronze shimmer on the lids and natural brows. She always gets it right!
Hmm, Amy looks a bit like she's going to a board meeting instead of a red carpet event. I think it's the business-like hair paired with the high neck of the dress. Not that she doesn't look great—she always does. I actually do like the straight hair for a change, and her makeup is flattering peachiness.
Is Rosamund crying or is that just some errant sparkle? Either way, this is fine, although I'm missing her juicy bright lipstick from the SAG Awards. Also take a closer look at the ends of her hair. See the dents in it? I would think they'd be a bit smoother...
Either this is not her best lighting or Reese is really jet-lagged and tired. It's also not the best-quality close-up, so I can't really tell what's going on with her makeup, aside from the dark under-eye area. Hair is fine, however, and that dress—va va voom! It looks great on her.
Wow, does Natalie ever have great skin! I like that she hasn't covered it up with too much foundation, and kept her makeup quite low-key—just stained lips and lashes, with lots of definition at the outer corners of her eyes. The updo is also pretty on her, with that swoosh of supermodel-esque volume at the top.
There's nothing groundbreaking about Hayley's hair or makeup, although the latter is perhaps a bit heavy (especially the blush and the eyeshadow).
Jenna's reminding me a bit of Lily Collins. Same delicate features and big bold brows. I quite like her chunky lashes and softly flushed cheeks, although the lip liner needs to go.
Well, isn't this cool? I love the idea of dove grey smoky eyes—it's not something we see too often on the red carpet, so thank you, MyAnna. She played 'em just right, keeping the lashes, lips and cheeks all soft, and her bobbed hair back off her face. I just love this makeup idea for blondes!
It's hard to go wrong with this classic: red lips, lashes, brushed-up brows and hair scraped all the way back in an updo. The lighting isn't the best here, but I think Noomi nailed it. Her skin is loving this orangey-red lipstick.
Alice followed the exact same beauty formula as Noomi, except her lip is cooler-toned. I think it worked equally well here—notice how she isn't wearing any detectable blush, to keep the focus on the mouth. But perhaps a bit more powder needed.
Who had your favourite beauty look on this red carpet?
