Tons of celebs turned out for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's (LACMA's) annual Art+Film Gala, sponsored by Gucci.
Here are all the beauty looks you need to see!
Dakota exudes schoolmarm glamour, and I'm feelin' it! Her hair and makeup really complement the vibrant mustard dress (by Gucci, natch). She has been doing tons of berry lips lately, this time a rich raspberry, with flushed cheeks, l0w-key lashes and natural skin. The curtain bangs and high ponytail are adorable, and match the whole prim and proper vibe.
Mia's graphic eyeshadow is SO cool. This is exactly how to execute such a thing—with bare lips, fresh but semi-matte skin and basically nothing else to take away from the bold statement. Also love how much volume she's got going on from her roots, and the sexy side-swept bangs.
Another great Diane look, what else is new? As usual, everything is in wonderful balance. I like her bolder lashes here, which I assume are not real, but nevertheless look quite good—nice and fringey. The fuller brows and baby "fans" are gorgeous, too, as is her creamy coral-pink lipstick. You can't see the back of her hair, but it's in a low, loose ponytail.
Not understanding the Moschino wrench situation, but otherwise, China's look is lovely. She has the ideal round face shape for wearing her hair in this sleek, centre-parted updo—and she also has the complexion for it! I love that she didn't wear much makeup at all, including au naturel lashes. The effect is monochromatic, and yet she doesn't look washed out.
Rosie is very beautiful here, although I still don't think anything can top what she did for the amfAR LA Inspiration Gala. (Maybe also because this feels a bit busy with the choker and the flower at her waist?) But her hair is outstanding, all fluffy and touchable... and I love the stained texture of her lips. Lashes and blush are more toned down than usual. I do still wish she would wear less blush!
We haven't seen this many people with natural lashes in a long time! Saoirse is yet another one who kept hers subdued for this red carpet, and her eye makeup is just beautiful—I love that softly sculpted look. I'm even down with her un-tweezed eyebrows and loose, textured updo. I think this could've been more modern with a different (less glossy) lip choice...
And... Reese is our first false lash offender! Usually, she doesn't wear ones that are this bad. See how they age her and give off try-hard vibes? Everything else, I'm fine with. The '60s-inspired half-up hair is a fun change, and her brows are especially good here. I'm not sure these ginormous earrings really suit Reese, though. Whenever she forces the sexy, it doesn't work.
Oh, wow, who knew Salma was hiding hair like this?! Or at least, I'm assuming it's her natural curly texture. She needs to let it free more often. Her smudgy-smoky eyes and sheer berry gloss are flattering and don't take attention away from her hair or dress (or boobies). I feel like there is a very slight white cast around her mid-face aea. I guess it's the flash bringing out her concealer/highlighter.
Finally, a Gwyneth look we can all get behind! She looks much younger when she wears her hair down—not so severe—and most importantly, skips those downright awful false lashes. Black tightlining, like she is doing here, is the way to go. I do think her skin could be perfected more, so that it's not so ruddy. That would show off the unique bronzey lip shade, which almost gets lost.
Chloë definitely peaked at the recent amfAR event, but this is still okay. It's her usual red lipstick with tons of lashes and not much other makeup, and hair in a strict bun. I love the dangly earrings, but hair down really softens her look.
Kelly has very "sexy" features—heavy-lidded eyes and full lips (which look amazing in that slightly iridescent gloss). She gets points for the smudgy eyeliner and tightlining, and for not trying to overcompensate with false lashes. Perhaps a stronger shape to her hair would modernize this a bit, and take her out of generic blonde territory.
Amber has such an amazing eye colour. She also pulls off this slicked-back wet hair with so much attitude. (It's that '90s model thing.) I appreciate the restraint on the makeup, but a little more coverage on the skin, especially the chin area, could take this to the next level.
Oh no. We've all been like, "Kim should mix it up!" since we've seen her go-to nude-toned makeup a bajillion times by now. But then this is what we get when she does experiment: Gothic oxblood lips on top of deeply tanned, heavily injected skin. Be careful for what you wish for! It's making me uncomfortable, and I think Kim is feeling that way, too. I think I can see her banana powder or whatever that stuff is called, and the necklace looks like it's choking her. Tragic...
