The Screen Actors Guild Awards (a.k.a. "the SAGs") took place on Saturday night, marking the halfway point of this year's awards season.

Let's dive in and discuss!

Alicia Vikander

Alicia really suits these tone-on-tone neutrals on top of her warm golden skin. What makes this special is the pale gold shadow at the inner corners of her eyes, and her shiny, healthy, ultra-straight hair. I like this hairstyle way better than when she wears it half-up.

Emilia Clarke

Emilia looks amazing in a bubblegum pink lipstick, shimmery shadow and subtle cat eyes. As usual, her full brows and lobbed brown hair give her this polished yet approachable vibe.

Brie Larson

I love this orangey-red lipstick on Brie, especially after she'd been wearing so many muddy brown tones (which don't flatter her as well). The tone is carried through on her lids and cheeks, and it's all super-gorgeous with her dress in the opposite colour, baby blue.

Rooney Mara

Rooney's beauty look rarely changes, but I always love it. Her lashes are particularly pretty this time, so gorgeously soft and defined. I appreciate her confidence in baring every feature with a scraped-back tight hairstyle.

Priyanka Chopra

I love that Priyanka did a vibrant fuchsia lipstick instead of sticking with a Kardashian-esque neutral palette. I just wish the rest of her styling wasn't so "prom." I don't like the volume in her updo, and feel this would have been better with sleek hair and edgier accessories.

Rachel McAdams

Rachel looks young and pretty in delicate baby pink lipstick, matching blush, smudgy-shimmery liner and defined lashes. While I'm still of the opinion that her hair colour is too blonde, I love the textured waves in her bob.

January Jones

These shimmery, silvery-blue tones around January's eyes are similar to what she wore at the Critics' Choice Awards. I think they're super-flattering with her colouring. I also like the pink lips and the insane amount of volume she's got going in her updo. Modern '60s chic!

Kate Winslet

This look is nothing exciting, but Kate looks so fresh—her skin is just flawless! I'm also loving her brows, which don't have that obviously filled-in look like so many celebs we see. I like the subtle black liner, peachy shadow and lipstick, and simple updo.

Christina Hendricks

Christina is channelling Brigitte Bardot, and is that ever a bad thing? I always dig the combo of curtain bangs and cat eyes, and her updo looks so romantic and effortless. I also like that she went for a deeper rose on her lips, instead of a baby pink.

Sofia Vergara

Sofia Vergara SAG Awards 2016

Sofia wore her hair straight this time, and I think it loosens up her style a bit. But she still wore her favourite berry-toned lipstick and false lashes, which don't seem the most current. I think I speak for all of us—I'd LOVE to see her in a sheer, pale lip colour, with a little brow gel and natural lashes.

Jessica Paré

Jessica looks so amazing in sleek, dramatic hairstyles and sophisticated, statement makeup. Notice how we never see her in beachy waves or bronzer? I love that! She is so striking that this juicy red lipstick makes this entire look.

Naomi Watts

Naomi looks beautiful in this rich raspberry lipstick, which brightens her entire face. I also love her thick, mid-length hair with bendy waves. I'm okay with the strong brows, although I'm not sure she needed so much dark eyeliner.

Kiernan Shipka

I don't like to spend too much time analyzing celebs who are still teenagers (Kiernan is only 16), but I have to say, I like what she did here for ANY age. The soft brown shading, fluffy lashes and brushed-up brows are the ideal way to bring out brown eyes. I also love her seamless blush, bare lips, and of course, insanely good skin.

Marisa Tomei

Marisa looks glamorous, but not too "done." I like her hair most of all—the colour and brushed-out wavy texture are absolutely gorgeous. I also appreciate her fresh skin, and the little flash of green on her lids is a fun touch. The false lashes aren't the worst I've seen, by far, but I'd still prefer a texture closer to Rooney Mara's.

Saoirse Ronan

This entire look really, REALLY suits Saoirse. I don't like heavy makeup on her, so the wash of silver shadow is honestly enough—no liner, heavy false lashes, filled-in brows or lip colour needed. With the loose ballerina bun, the effect is ethereal and fresh.

Claire Danes

Less is more on Claire, so I like that she didn't try too hard here—just a little shimmery shadow and pink lipstick with a loose long bob. But I feel like she needed a stronger pop of colour on her lips to make this interesting. Also, I've long felt her blonde was too brassy.

Amanda Peet

There's definitely something appealing about a casual ponytail and a fresh face with a bare, spaghetti-strap neckline. I love the lack of adornment Amanda's got going on here, and the pink lips are so pretty. Perhaps a stronger highlight on the cheeks and the inner corners of the eyes would be nice, to add some dewiness.

Nicole Kidman

Nicole's hair is glorious! I love the colour and longer length, and I also think her skin looks fantastic. Injections or not, the tone and texture are really beautiful—the woman has no pores or pigmentation to speak of. If you look closely, she has a thin line of sparkly purple underneath her lower lashes. Very cool!

Anna Faris

Anna went with a strong liner look, which shows off her eyes' almond shape, plus peach lips and a sweep of bangs across the forehead. The lipstick seems too light and chalky (and something's gone wrong with the overlining!), and I wish her false lashes weren't so extreme.

Sarah Hyland

Sarah wore her lobbed hair in a sexy, voluminous, bouffant thing. It's not the most modern style, and I'd rather see something along the lines of Emilia Clarke's hair instead (with blunt ends). But I always like her strong brows, and the smoky, shimmery eyeshadow is quite pretty.

Julie Bowen

I'm happy to see Julie looking effortlessly pretty, without the heavy eyeliner and dark shadow she has worn in the past. She looks good with her hair parted deep on one side, sweeping across the forehead and pinned up at the back. The makeup has a nice light touch, except for the lashes.

Melissa Rauch

Melissa has definitely improved her hair game with these soft, long curtain bangs and the overall texture. She has such beautiful eyes, too, accentuated by gold shimmer eyeshadow and lots of liner. (And false lashes, which she doesn't need.)

Christina Ricci

First of all, it's great to see Christina. It has been years! As for this look, I think the eye makeup is too heavy, but I like how the liner goes right into the tear ducts for a dramatic feline effect. And girl... this is not your hair colour. Dark, glossy brunette is her Life Colour!

Ariel Winter

The flush of colour on Ariel's cheeks is so soft and pretty, she looks almost air-brushed. (And her complexion is totally flawless... sigh.) I also like the opaque pinky-peach lip colour, even if her lips are a little flaky. The biggest problem is the jet-black hair colour. It's way too solid and harsh!

Kate Mara

Kate Mara SAG Awards 2016

Kate did a thick swipe of shimmering gold underneath each eye, paired with brown liner in the waterlines and au naturel lashes. With the pinky tones on her lips and cheeks, it's a lovely, delicate look. As for her hair, I like this evolution of her short cut. The bangs are longer now, with lots of texture, and the colour matches her eyes perfectly.

Ellie Kemper

I am a big fan of Ellie's soft, sparkly eye makeup, with no detectable harsh lines. Also note the lips—there is lip liner, but it's blended up so that the lips almost have an Ombré effect. I like her textured, collarbone-length bob (although her hair was great longer, too).

Eva Longoria

Eva's slightly shorter hair really updates her look (which can often veer into beauty pageant contestant territory). But I wish she wouldn't wear such extreme contouring, false lashes that are way too long, and drawn-on angular eyebrows. It's just too much.

Kaley Cuoco

I like that Kaley took a risk with this graphic eyeshadow and sculptural, off-centre top knot. But short hair will always be my favourite for her, and I prefer her in way less makeup. I think it's the brows that hold her back—hopefully she'll find a way to grow them out or at least fill them in to be straighter (not so tadpole-ish).

Who had your favourite (and least favourite) beauty look on this red carpet?
