Grammys 2016

This year's Grammy Awards, held in Los Angeles on Monday night, delivered plenty of beauty eye candy.

From Selena Gomez's bold eyeshadow to Taylor Swift's new bob (and even Lady Gaga's David Bowie beauty tribute!), there's lots to discuss on this red carpet.

Let's dive in:

Selena Gomez

Selena vamped it up in graphic eyeshadow, baby pink lips and sexy waves to go with her plunging navy sequinned dress. I feel like the contour is a little too strong, but otherwise I love this look!

Taylor Swift

Taylor has a new chin-length bob, and it's a definite improvement over some of her previous 'dos (like the helmet hair!). Plus, I always did love her with straight-across bangs. Makeup-wise, she stuck with her favourite red lip, but added a shimmery purple shadow to match her skirt.

Ciara

Ciara's skin looks really good, and I love the pale lips with a subtle sheen. If you look closely, her smoky eyes sparkle with gold shimmer. As for her hair, I like her new face-framing highlights, but not so much this style.

Demi Lovato

Demi has such amazingly healthy-looking skin. Even though her styling is never quite my personal taste, her beautiful glow and freckles always shine through. Here, her makeup has a lighter touch than usual, aside from the overly precise brows. I feel like her hair colour needs more dimension.

Demi is wearing: Foundation (mixed with face oil) • Concealer • Concealer and highlighter • Contour • Illuminator in So Hollywood • Blush • Brow powder in Taupe • Eyeshadow in Joy Toy • Eyeliner in Black • Mascara • Lip gloss in Gold Digger

Adele

Adele's new lob haircut is everything. I like this shade of blonde as well, and the (somewhat) lighter hand on the makeup. I think it's cool that she always keeps her signature black cat eyes; they're much fresher now with the sheer rosy lips. I might tone down the blush and brows, though.

Adele is wearing: Foundation • Concealer • Powder in Translucent • Contour in Light • Blush in 300 • Eyeliner in 1 Black • Mascara in Black • Brow pomade in 04 Medium Brown • Eyeshadow in Auda[city] in Paris • Lip gloss in Bare Attraction

Janelle Monáe

If you can get past the distracting costumey details, the beauty showstoppers here are Janelle's flawless skin, glossy lips and full brows. (How are her arches this thick?!) I also really like the black liner in her lower waterlines and that her makeup in general looks really natural and lived-in (aside from the false lashes).

Ellie Goulding

Ellie embraced a soft pink palette here, with matching shades on both her lids and lips. And she did a good job with her skin and blush. But I'm not feeling the wind-swept hairstyle. It's too feathery, with not enough weight to it for the flip. Also, don't her lips look freshly injected?!

Tori Kelly

Tori chose a lighter baby pink for her blush and lipstick, and it looks so pretty. I also like the way her lids are softly sculpted, with a focus on the lashes—it reminds me a bit of the signature Kardashian eye, but not so over-the-top! But I feel like the old Hollywood styling isn't quite right for a music industry event. I'd love to see her try something more edgy!

Kaley Cuoco

Kaley's eye makeup is gorgeous, and really brings out her green eyes. I also like the pink lipstick, but I feel she could fill in her brows better to correct the tadpole shape. Also, the faux tan is a little too deep for her light blonde hair.

Meghan Trainor

Meghan is rocking a new, sophisticated red hair colour, and I love it. I'm also glad to see more natural-looking false lashes and warm, glowing makeup. Talk about a transformation!

Carrie Underwood

It looks like Carrie's style got a little refresh, right? I think it's the shorter hair and the off-the-face style that's giving her a more modern look this time, even if the makeup is the same heavy-handed business as always. I'm still dying to tone down the shadow, liner and lashes, and correct her tadpole brow shape.

Lady Gaga

I saved the most cray for last, but you know what? Gaga does cray with STYLE. Her bright blue, bedazzled lids and red wig are the best tribute to David Bowie!

Lady Gaga is wearing: Concealer in 01 Bavarian Cream • Foundation in 05 Light Porcelain • Powder in 05 Porcelain • Contour in 26 Tranquil • Blush in 04 Love At First Sight • Highlighter in 01 Stardust • Eyeliner in 29 My Boyfriend’s JeansEyeliner in 24 Surfer BabeEyeliner in 05 Navy Baby • Mascara in Ultra Black • Lip liner in 1 Bright Coral • Lipstick in No. 28 Just Married • Lip gloss in 07 You Fancy
