Rihanna

Rihanna at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Rihanna at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Rihanna's '70s-style blush-turned-eyeshadow. Oh my goodness, could this be any more perfect? With the gorgeous highlights, berry lips, top knot and bangs, she nailed the theme—and has never looked prettier. What I'd change: Nothing.

Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Gigi Hadid at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Gigi's exaggerated cat eyes and the matte, pinky tones on her lips and lids. It's cool how she left that wavy piece out of her updo for a mysterious, sculptural vibe. Her hair looks darker than normal—I like it! What I'd change: Nothing.

Gigi is wearing: Primer • Foundation • PowderHighlighter • Setting sprayConcealer (on brows) • Brow mascara in Blonde • Eyeshadow in The Rock NudesEyeliner in Sleek OnyxEyeliner in Blackest Black • Mascara in Very BlackLipstick in Loyalist

Lily Collins

Lily Collins at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Lily Collins at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Lily's vampy lipstick and spidery lashes. Always my favourite my favourite makeup look with her pale colouring! The bob and baby bangs are Rei Kawakubo-inspired (and don't worry, they're just a wig). What I'd change: Nothing.

Lily is wearing: Eyeliner in Black Ebony (on lips) • Lipstick in Berry Noir

Zendaya

Zendaya at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Zendaya at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Zendaya's giant, fuzzy cloud of hair. With the sophisticated makeup, she is getting more editorial by the day! The orange lipstick and soft lashes are fantastic on her. What I'd change: Nothing.

Zendaya is wearing: Foundation in Classic TanEyeshadow in Nudes • Mascara in Very BlackBrow powder in Rich Brown • Lipstick in Tan-Gel-O

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Selena Gomez at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Selena's bright pink shadow (well, actually it's an eyeliner) in a horizontal shape. I also dig her sophisticated new lob haircut with reddish ends. What I'd change: I might soften the lower lip liner a tad. Is she getting injections in her top lip now?

Selena is wearing: Primer • Foundation in 34 Beige Medium • Highlighter in 50 Dew You?Concealer in 2 Wake-Up Call (under eyes) • Concealer in 3 Young • Powder in 300 BeigeBronzer in Tantric 102 • Blush in 500 Lush & Libido • Eyeliner in (Pop)ular 49 • Eyeshadow in The Lover 220 (soft pink shades) • Mascara in Noir (top lashes) • Mascara in Noir (bottom lashes) • Brow pencil in Medium Brown 6 • Brow gelLip liner in Nude(ist) 300 • Lipstick in In the Mood 152 • Illuminator in Spotlight (on body) • Setting spray

Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Kendall Jenner at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Kendall's healthy, summery skin! And everything else she's got going on here, from the wet hair to the long lashes to the vibrant orangey-red lip. I've never been this blown away by her beauty before. What I'd change: Nothing.

Kendall is wearing: Foundation • BronzerIlluminatorEyeshadow in Fiery Saffron • Mascara in Black • Brow pencil • Lipstick in Carnal

Mandy Moore

Mandy Moore at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Mandy Moore at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Mandy's creative lilac eyeshadow, all the way around her eyes. Instead of highlighter, she did graphic dots of silver at her inner corners. A sleek, centre-parted updo is a great new look for her. What I'd change: The foundation seems a little heavy/slippery. I think the brows are too red and don't need so much over-drawing.

Rose Byrne

Rose Byrne at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Rose Byrne at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Rose's disco-era curls. (Usually that pyramid shape is what people want to avoid, but here, it's so right!) Also notice the pink liner under her lower lashes. What I'd change: Nothing.

Lily-Rose Depp

Lily-Rose Depp at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Lily-Rose Depp at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Lily-Rose's Cleopatra liner (or a "double cat eye," as her makeup artist Kate Lee called it). The peach blush and highlighter are to die for, as are her cheekbones—but remember, she's only 17! What I'd change: Nothing.

Lily is wearing: Eyeliner in Noir Intense • Eyeliner in Hyperblack • Mascara in Noir • Lipstick in Catherine

Lupita Nyong'o

Lupita Nyong'o at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Lupita Nyong'o at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Lupita's painterly, multi-coloured eye look. So fun! As usual, her skin gleams with health, and it was the right move to add the surprise of hair at the back. What I'd change: Nothing.

Lupita is wearing: Eyeshadow base • Eyeliner in Cuivre • Eyeliner in Or Billiant • Eyeliner in Brique • Eyeliner in Côte d'Azur • Eyeliner in Ampoulé • Eyeshadow in Miss Sweetheart • Eyeshadow in Sapphire Lace • Eyeshadow in Touch of Coral • Eyeshadow in All That Shimmers • Eyeshadow in Exhibition

Emily Ratajkowski

Emily Ratajkowski at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Emily Ratajkowski at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Emily's two-toned turquoise and gold eyes, which are a little matchy to the dress, but not perfectly (which is more interesting). Ever since the Globes, I've thought she looks stunning in oranges. What I'd change: Nothing.

Emily is wearing: Primer • Foundation in 46 Golden Deep • Highlighter in 50 Dew You? (one pump mixed with foundation) • Concealer in 4 Late Show • Powder in 400 Golden Fawn • Bronzer in Tantric 102 • Blush in 502 Lines & Last Night • Eyeliner in (Whirl)pool 51 • Eyeliner in (Over)night 61 • Eyeliner in Sunset 74 • Eyeshadow in The Dreamer 212 (golden nude shade) • Mascara in Noir (top lashes) • Mascara in Noir (bottom lashes) • Brow pencil in Medium Brown 6 • Brow gel • Lip liner in Oh Cocoa 310 • Lipstick in Understudy 114 • Illuminator in Spotlight (on body) • Setting spray

Thandie Newton

Thandie Newton at the 2017 Met Gala.

Clos-up of Thandie Newton at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Thandie's heavy, rounded smoky eyes (inspired by Comme des Garçons models in the '80s). Somehow, she pulls off their intensity, perhaps because of her flawless skin and the equally dramatic floral updo. What I'd change: Nothing.

Thandie is wearing: Concealer • Eyeshadow in Sycorax • Eyeliner in Black Valley • Eyeliner in Minorque • Lipstick in Get It On

Taylor Hill

Taylor Hill at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Taylor Hill at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Taylor's sultry burgundy eyes. They match her dress, but the heavy application is more edgy than glam. I love her natural brows, centre-parted hair and matte lip stain. What I'd change: Nothing.

Taylor is wearing: Eyeshadow in Rose Tempete • Lipstick in Energy in Peach • Lipstick in Beige Vintage

Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Priyanka Chopra at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Priyanka's silver lids and brown lipstick. Along with her top knot, they're quite the departure from her usual style! I appreciate the soft lashes, too. What I'd change: Nothing.

Priyanka is wearing: Eye cream • Moisturizer • Eyeshadow in Intense Clays (pewter shade) • Eyeshadow in Platinum • Lipstick in Crushed Pecan

Cara Delevingne

Cara Delevingne at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Cara Delevingne at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Leave it to Cara to make a silver, bedazzled bald head look good. (She shaved it off for an upcoming film role.) Her eyes are super-mesmerizing, complemented by her signature brows. What I'd change: Nothing.

Cara is wearing: Eyeshadow in Grunge Glamour • Eyeliner in Jet Black • Eyeliner in Black • Mascara in Very Black

Halle Berry

Halle Berry at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Halle Berry at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Can you believe Halle is 50 and looks like this?! The smoky, shimmery eyes are less "safe" than what we're used to seeing on her, and she's actually wearing a gold crown at the back of her updo. What I'd change: Nothing.

Hailee Steinfeld

Hailee Steinfeld at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Hailee Steinfeld at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Hailee's graphic cat eyes (notice a theme on this red carpet?). Her skin is looking flawless lately. The stained pink lips and tight top knot are so pretty. What I'd change: Nothing.

Hailee is wearing: Moisturizer • Tinted moisturizer • Powder • Bronzer • Eyeliner in Black • Mascara in Black • Lip crayon in Big Apple

Zoey Deutch

Zoey Deutch at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Zoey Deutch at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Zoey's soft stripes of orangey shadow, with matte lips in a similar tone. As always, I love her brows, and she looks great in the updo and earrings. What I'd change: The blush looks patchy and poorly blended.

Rita Ora

Rita Ora at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Rita Ora at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Rita's hairstyle may not be my taste, but the way this pixie headpiece was layered and pasted down sure is impressive! Makeup-wise, she stuck with her go-to red lip. What I'd change: Nothing, but I do feel like I've seen this makeup many times before.

Rita is wearing: Primer • Concealer in Light • Foundation in Sand • Contour, highlight and blush in Golden Bronze • Bronzer in Sun Bronze • Eyeshadow in Keep Calm and Wear Gold • Eyeliner in Black • Mascara in Black • Brow powder in Dark Brown • Brow gel in Clear • Lip liner in Red Dynamite • Lipstick in Kiss of Life

Dakota Johnson

Dakota Johnson at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Dakota Johnson at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Dakota's rosy cheeks, freckles and natural skin finish. She looks so darn pretty here, with such simple, fresh makeup! The soft updo is a must with the ruffles. What I'd change: Nothing.

Bella Hadid

Bella Hadid at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Bella Hadid at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Bella's angled long bob. I really love this length on her. Makeup is her usual soft nude palette—not that anyone was looking away from that bodysuit! What I'd change: Nothing.

Bella is wearing: Moisturizer • Blush in Mimi Bronze • Contour • Lip liner in Jungle Brown • Lipstick in 420 Underground

Zoë Kravitz

Zoë Kravitz at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Zoë Kravitz at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: The way Zoë's new blonde pixie is showing off her gorgeous skin and exquisite bone structure. The strong brows and flicks of liner contrast with the soft, pinky lips. What I'd change: Nothing.

Zoë is wearing: Highlighter in Daylight • Foundation in Sand • Concealer in Light Peach • Powder • Bronzer in Jasper (as blush) • Brow pencil in Dark Brown • Brow powder in 02 • Eyeshadow palette • Eyeshadow in Onde Sable • Eyeliner in Charcoal Grey • Eyeliner in Blanc Arty • Lip liner in Rose • Lipstick in Coral Remix • Lip gloss in Nude Carat

Blake Lively

Blake Lively at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Blake Lively at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Blake's sun-kissed skin and shimmering gold liner, to pick up on her opulent earrings and dress. We can't see it in this pic, but I love that she wore her long hair in a high, straight ponytail instead of a formal updo. What I'd change: I'm not crazy about these particular false lashes that she usually wears. The lip texture could be softened.

Blake is wearing: Moisturizer • Foundation in Shell Beige • Contour • Concealer in Light • Blush in Peach Gold Lift • Illuminator in Rose • Eyeshadow in Nude Fishnet • Eyeshadow in Nude • Eyeliner in Gold • Mascara in Black/Brown • Brow pencil in Blonde • Lipstick in Bare Attraction

Janelle Monáe

Janelle Monáe at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Janelle Monáe at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Janelle's crystal-adorned hair and face-framing feathers. She returned to her favourite red lipstick and black liner, but it still looks fresh. What I'd change: I don't mind these false lashes, but I might add a hint more powder around her nose.

Janelle is wearing: Foundation • Lipstick in You're On Fire!

Jennifer Connelly

Jennifer Connelly at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Jennifer Connelly at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Jennifer's pink shadow, which goes from warm and golden at the inner corners, to a cooler purplish hue at the outer edges. It's perfectly executed with minimal lashes, nude makeup, slicked-back hair and her amazing straight brows. What I'd change: Nothing.

Karlie Kloss

Karlie Kloss at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Karlie Kloss at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Karlie's glowing skin and super-natural makeup. Even the orangey eyeshadow is so sheer, you almost miss it. What I'd change: I'm not really feeling this platinum blonde bob, but if you look closely, you can see it's a wig.

Léa Seydoux

Léa Seydoux at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Léa Seydoux at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Léa's voluminous, wavy lob with a deep side part. She always looks incredible in a stained red lip, with only a bit of subtle shading and highlighting to enhance her eyes. What I'd change: Nothing.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Kim Kardashian at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Kim's straight, centre-parted lob. And I think her makeup is actually okay, at least compared her heavy looks from the past. The lipstick is quite pretty. What I'd change: She has an orangey hue from the spray tan, and her under-eye area looks too powdery and "baked."

Kim is wearing: Moisturizer • Face oil • Eye cream • Foundation in 50 Beige • Eyeshadow in Undertone • Eyeshadow in Sable • Eyeshadow in Visone • Eyeliner in Noir • Mascara in Noir • Lip balm in Clear • Lipstick in Libre

Elle Fanning

Elle Fanning at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Elle Fanning at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Elle's fresh, flawless skin and barely-there makeup. With the princessy updo and headband, she looks even younger than her 19 years (which is very refreshing in our era of Instagram makeup!). What I'd change: Nothing.

Daisy Ridley

Daisy Ridley at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Daisy Ridley at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Daisy's curvy cat eyes, pink lipstick and tight updo (with ends peeking out). How did I not notice her great brows before? What I'd change: Nothing.

Daisy is wearing: Foundation • Powder • Lipstick in Brigitte

Isabelle Huppert

Isabelle Huppert at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Isabelle Huppert at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Isabelle's black leather beret and fluffy red waves, topped off by a deep berry lipstick. I love her subtle shadow and lashes, too. This woman is the epitome of chic! What I'd change: Nothing.

Sophie Turner

Sophie Turner at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Sophie Turner at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Sophie's sparkling eyes. The cat-eye liner and silver shimmer make them pop like crazy. I'm also into the glossy lips and off-the-face hair. What I'd change: Nothing.

Joan Smalls

Joan Smalls at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Joan Smalls at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Joan's airbrushed skin and long, wet-look waves. Oh, and about those lip rings—they're painted on! What I'd change: I think natural lashes would've suited this look better.

Brie Larson

Brie Larson at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Brie Larson at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: The flakes of gold foil in Brie's wavy side pony. As if that weren't enough, she added faux pearls at the edges of her smoky eyes! The rest of the makeup is warm and glowy. What I'd change: Nothing, although the one pearl at the inner corner kinda bugs me.

Brie is wearing: Liquid blush in Orgasm • Eyeshadow in Portobello • Eyeshadow in Fez • Eyeliner in Iskandar • Eyeliner in Koala • Mascara in Noir

Naomi Campbell

Naomi Campbell at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Naomi Campbell at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Naomi's shiny, swingy bob (which I believe is a wig?). I also like her mauvey lip colour and the silver eyeshadow. What I'd change: The lashes and waterlines make the eyes seem heavy-handed, but she can wear anything.

Diane Kruger

Diane Kruger at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Diane Kruger at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Diane's pretty pink blush and matching lipstick. This is such a great shade for her! Brows are groomed, lashes are long but tasteful, and I love this new shorter, wavy bob. What I'd change: Nothing.

Diane is wearing: Primer • Tinted moisturizer in Hamptons • Concealer in Aspen • Blush in Copacabana • Powder • Eyeliner in Brown • Eyeshadow palette • Lip liner in Nude • Lipstick in Bite

Kate Bosworth

Kate Bosworth at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Kate Bosworth at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Kate's two-toned eyeshadow, featuring pink up to the crease and a sheer orange up to the brows. The vibrant, shimmery red lipstick adds to the colour-blocking effect. What I'd change: The over-drawing of her upper lip is too ambitious.

Kate is wearing: Lipstick in Tempation • Lipstick in Addiction

Tracee Ellis Ross

Tracee Ellis Ross at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Tracee Ellis Ross at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Tracee's charcoal shadow, which enhances her unique rounded eye shape. The matte pink lipstick is more interesting than a nude. What I'd change: Normally, I love a natural skin finish, but I think some strategic powdering could help here.

Miranda Kerr

Miranda Kerr at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Miranda Kerr at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Miranda's glossy, orange-red lips. Yes, we've seen her in similar lips/lashes/updo combos many times before, but it always works on her. What I'd change: Is it just me or is her eye area looking freshly Botoxed?

Miranda is wearing: Lipstick in Portofino Red • Lipstick in Foreplay

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Kerry Washington at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Kerry's glossy pink lips and silver eyeshadow. Like Lily Collins, she's having fun with the bobbed wig and short bangs. What I'd change: I would've left the bangs a little longer and straighter (i.e. not so hacked-looking). Also, the brows should be more ashy, with a softer shape.

Doutzen Kroes

Doutzen Kroes at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Doutzen Kroes at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Doutzen's beachy waves and au naturel makeup. It's her darker brows that define this look, because she's barely wearing any mascara. What I'd change: Nothing.

Emmy Rossum

Emmy Rossum at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Emmy Rossum at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Emmy's shimmering taupe eyes and beautifully textured, soft red lips. Lashes are low-key and brows are feathery. This is such a modern way to do glam makeup! What I'd change: Nothing.

Emmy is wearing: Lipstick in Tango

Gisele Bündchen

Gisele Bündchen at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Gisele Bündchen at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Gisele's (very Gisele-esque) messy, beachy high ponytail. Her skin is beyond gorgeous, with some possibly faux freckles adding to the natural effect. I like the lashes, shimmery shadow and soft rose lips. What I'd change: Her brow is Spocking, a telltale sign of poorly placed Botox.

Gisele is wearing: Primer • Foundation in 38 Beige Deep • Concealer in 4 Glow • Highlighter in 50 Dew You? • Powder in 360 Golden • Blush in 504 Kink & Kisses • Bronzer in Tantric 102 • Eyeliner in (Iron)y 45 • Eyeliner in Ro(Cocoa) 48 • Eyeshadow in The Enigma 216 • Mascara in Noir (top lashes) • Mascara in Noir (bottom lashes) • Brow pencil in Taupe 2 • Brow pencil in Ashbrown 4 • Brow gel • Lip liner in Slow Burn 306 • Lipstick in Eat Cake 150 • Setting spray

Reese Witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Reese Witherspoon at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Reese's royal blue eyeshadow, which I'm sure was outside her comfort zone! It doesn't overpower because it's only up to the crease, with the rest of the makeup staying super-clean. Her hair is in a ponytail, pinned up with two barrettes. What I'd change: Nothing.

Behati Prinsloo

Behati Prinsloo at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Behati Prinsloo at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Behati's long waves. This is such an awesome idea to make the waving really precise, but with a relaxed texture—so they look neither mermaidy nor "old Hollywood." Her smudgy brown smoky eyes are fab, too. What I'd change: Nothing.

Hailey Baldwin

Hailey Baldwin at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Hailey Baldwin at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Hailey's gorgeous skin and tawny, balmy lip colour. Under the diamond veil, she's sporting metallic smoky eyes. I really like the wrapped, high bun. What I'd change: Nothing.

Hailey is wearing: Eyeshadow in Au Naturel • Eyeshadow in Orchid • Eyeshadow in Amethyst • Mascara in Carbon Black

Emma Roberts

Emma Roberts at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Emma Roberts at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Emma's returned to brunette! I was so waiting for this. I love that she did a pink lipstick with a red dress. What I'd change: The lashes are a bit heavy, but she has such pretty doe eyes, she gets away with them.

Emma is wearing: Self-tanner • Moisturizer • Eye cream • Illuminator •  Foundation in 02 and 03 • Powder in 2 Medium and 3 Dark • Concealer in 1 Fair • Blush, highlighter and eyeshadow • Blush in Moon Beach • Eyeshadow in The Dolce Vita • Eyeliner in Audrey • Eyeliner in Eye Cheat • Mascara • Brow pencil in Rita • Brow mascara in Clear • Lip liner in Pillow Talk • Lipstick in Pillow Talk • Body shimmer

Riley Keough

Riley Keough at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Riley Keough at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Riley's strong, darkened brows and rosy lipstick. What I'd change: I keep saying this, but I love her with reddish brown hair. This blonde looks dry and washes out her skin tone.

Felicity Jones

Felicity Jones at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Felicity Jones at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Felicity's go-to black liner and '60s pink lipstick. Fresh skin and loose hair keep this from looking too "done." What I'd change: The lipstick texture needs fixing.

Elizabeth Banks

Elizabeth Banks at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Elizabeth Banks at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Elizabeth's artistic bright blue liner with light, warm pink lips. I think the lashes are actually okay, as they have a good texture. What I'd change: I'm not a fan of this solid-colour, bleached blonde at all.

Allison Williams

Allison Williams at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Allison Williams at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Allison's skin looks nice, and the blonde doesn't seem as fried as it looked on that Allure cover. I like the red lipstick on her. What I'd change: The stiff curls, weird heavy eyeliner and overdrawn lips are too much! There should always be a few fresh, "effortless" elements to tone things down.

Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Kylie Jenner at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Kylie looks very sweet in this bobbed blonde wig and baby pink makeup. We can see more of her nice skin, for once. I like the soft texture of her lipstick. What I'd change: How these Instagram brows became a trend, I can't fathom! As usual with the Kardashian-Jenners, the mid-face is heavy, the lashes are spidery, and the lips are over-inflated.

Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Evan Rachel Wood at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: I have to admire Evan's bravery for wearing this over-the-top eye makeup with blue hair... even though it is prett scary. What I'd change: I think Thandie Newton did a better job of making an avant-garde beauty statement look fresh and beautiful. Of course, it's always easier with a flawless skin canvas.

Candice Swanepoel

Candice Swanepoel at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Candice Swanepoel at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: The way Candice's dramatic cat eyes contrast with her healthy, natural skin. What I'd change: The high ponytail looks messy, and is she getting lip fillers now?

Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Kate Hudson at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Kate's warm smoky eyes and matching lipstick are fine. What I'd change: Not only do I dislike the powdery white hair, but it looks like it got on her skin, too!

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Jennifer Lopez at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: It's a bit dated, but Jennifer always looks good in half-up hair. What I'd change: This would be a million times better without her favourite goopy pale lips (and ring around them). Also, her brow pencil does not match.

Claire Danes

Claire Danes at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Claire Danes at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Claire's ponytail, I guess? She had to wear her hair up with that collar. What I'd change: I never like her in edgy makeup, like this sooty liner... and where did her eyebrows go? The giant arrow in her hair seems unnecessary.

Claire is wearing: Bronzer in Seaside • Eyeshadow in Pandora • Mascara in Black Moon

Keri Russell

Keri Russell at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Keri Russell at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Kerry's brows. They've been darkened, but have still have that feathery touch I always talk about. What I'd change: I get why she went for elaborate eye makeup, since it looks like she might have a cold sore on her lip. (UPDATE: Not a cold sore, just a mole. Never noticed it before, since she usually wears bolder lipsticks.) But this cat eye reminds me of that famous eyeliner meme. If her hair were tidier and her skin more perfected, it would help.

Katy Perry

Katy Perry at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Katy Perry at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: I'm not opposed to Katy's glitter lips and the sequins at the inner corners of her eyes. Too bad we can't see them properly! What I'd change: Since when did she become Lady Gaga? Is the Met Gala really the place to blatantly advertise the name of your next album across your forehead?

Katy is wearing: Foundation in Creamy Natural • Eyeshadow in Jewels • Eyeliner in Midnight Matte • Mascara in Very Black • Lipstick in Crimson Cat

Courtney Love

Courtney Love at the 2017 Met Gala.

Close-up of Courtney Love at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Courtney's shimmering forest green eyeshadow. It's surprisingly good! I like it with the berry lip colour. What I'd change: She could really ease up on the injections.

Haley Bennett

Haley Bennett at the 2017 Met Gala.

What I like: Haley's matching bright pink lipstick and blush. I love this colour, and the soft textures are really great. She has gorgeous skin and brows. What I'd change: I don't fully understand the Marie Antoinette theme, complete with cherubs sitting in her hair. Maybe she's at the wrong party? Even more egregious are the fake-looking green contact lenses.

Grace Hartzel

What I like: Well, this is one way to get your name out there! Grace really committed to the Comme des Garçons theme. Being a model, she looks less cray in it than most people would. What I'd change: Actually? Nothing. Good for her for doing her homework (apparently this dates back to the '90s runway).

Madonna

What I like: The one thing I will say is that Madonna does have nice eyebrows. What I'd change: I don't know if the outfit is scarier, or the lopsided cheek fillers! Sarah Paulson is all of us:

Who had your favourite (and least favourite) beauty looks on this red carpet?
