Like every other event this awards season, the BAFTAs were a little bit different this year. With no in-person red carpet to strut, celebs showcased their looks on Instagram as they celebrated the best in British cinema.
Scroll on for the most memorable skin, hair and makeup moments.
Ashley had my favourite makeup—and outfit, a vibrant yellow dress—of the night. Just look at that dramatic eyeliner with soft (not sharp) edges! Her brows couldn't be more perfect, and the same goes for her skin. I also love her dramatic braid with face-framing baby curls.

Who knew that matching your lipstick to your hair colour could look so gorgeous? Phoebe is absolutely stunning in these soft waves and tawny makeup. I love all the little details, like that highlight on her cheek, the brushed-up brows and the baby wings of eyeliner.
I can't get enough of these close-ups of Vanessa's flawless skin (like we also saw at the SAG Awards!). This time around, she replaced her red lipstick with a peachy nude, and matching blush. A sweep of black liquid liner, defined lashes and her famously full brows complete the look.
Gugu made a dramatic statement with a deep purple mouth and 1920s-inspired finger waves. I love how precisely that lipstick was painted on (you can see her makeup artist's preparatory sketch here!), and how she's wearing it with no other colours. Also notice how her eyelid creases are emphasized, giving this look another retro touch.

While I suspect this photo went through some kind of blurring filter, Priyanka's face is still a makeup artist's dream. She can handle a lot of product—like these gorgeous multidimensional smoky eyes with flushed cheeks and a rich, pinky-red lipstick.
With a monochromatic lavender eyeshadow and a peachy-rose lipstick, Maria mixed cool and warm tones for this makeup look (both pulled from the colours on her dress). But I might like that pretty, dewy highlight on her cheek even better!
Wunmi's hair and makeup gave her classic, princessy dress and necklace a totally unexpected twist. There's only one word for the half-up curly faux-hawk: fierce! I also adore her glowy, natural-looking skin with soft pink lips and strong brows.
Rose jazzed up her chic black suit with a magenta lip and a sculptural low ponytail. Her skin looks amazing, and I love the diffused quality of the blush. I'm just not crazy about the eyeliner under her eyes, which seems to drag her face down.

Sophie was all about a fresh-faced, effortless beauty vibe. In addition to the subtle kitten eyes and seamless blush, I love that her berry lip colour was pressed in with a fingertip for a more lived-in look.
Just like the last time we saw Renée (at the Oscars), she's rocking a low-key, pink-toned makeup look. The new feature is her hair, which is no longer tied back in a chignon but worn loose and wavy. I do like the shorter length on her, but if it were straighter and blonder, I think it would give her more pop.
