Ask a Hairstylist: How to Get Bleached Hair to Hold Colour
Welcome to our Hair Consultations column. To request an online hair consultation, follow the instructions here.
Q: I have bleached blonde, very damaged hair, which used to be jet black. The hairdresser I go to has tried twice to put pieces of brown through my hair—but failed! Do you know why this is? What should I do? — Sharmeen
A: Sharmeen, I would usually have to fill the hair of the missing pigment if I'm going to brown, which is pure gold pigment.
In order to do this, you would need three inches of Schwarzkopf Igora Color Creme in 0-55 with a half-inch of copper, and three inches of level six gold.
This would be a great formula for you to achieve a brown colour on high-lifted hair, without going muddy.
The more deposits of this formula you do, the better your colour will become.
