The CFDA Awards—Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards—are like the Oscars of fashion. So how fitting that the celebrity and model guests gave their hair and makeup a cool and trendy spin.
You won't see the craziness of the Met Gala here, nor the formal Hollywood glam associated with awards season. But you WILL spot loads of pretty beauty looks you'll want to copy for the summer days and nights ahead!
Kate went with a summery orange makeup palette, and I love it. Glossy lips are the focus (and I appreciate that they're a true orange, not reddish). The colour is echoed more sheerly on her cheeks and lids. It's all so pretty with her simple straight hair, brushed-up brows and defined upper (not lower) lashes.

Bella has a new power bob 'n' bangs! Her hairstylist took inspiration from Michelle Pfeiffer's Scarface style, complete with rounded ends. (I've never seen that movie but I've ALWAYS loved that hairstyle!) Meanwhile, the makeup is all nude, subtle and sculpted. Side note: Is that seriously her real bone structure? I might need to re-open her Before & After file!

Olivia gave off a summery vibe in an adorable, casual top knot. I've missed this hairstyle! The fluoro red lips keep the fun going, along with a foundation that's sheer enough to show off her freckles. Instead of the usual taupe shadow, she did a soft shimmery gold that almost blends into her skin.
How gorgeous is Gigi's skin here?! The more I stare at this makeup (or lack thereof), the more I like it: sheer pinky shadow, matte rosy lips and soft lashes and brows. As for her new brunette hair, she definitely pulls off this colour... but I'll always prefer her as a blonde!
Gabrielle served up big, voluminious waves, matte berry lipstick and an unexpected yellowy-green eyeshadow. If we look closely, there are some details around the eyes to make them pop: black liner close to the lash lines, and a darker charcoal shadow to shade the outer corners. This colour isn't easy to wear, but it looks so good on her!
Karlie brought out her edgy, rock 'n' roll side. There's black liner all the way around her eyes in her waterlines, slightly smudged out, with defined lashes. A "your lips, only better" lipstick shade plus messy bedhead hair complete the look. I absolutely love her hair colour right now!
Hailey skin looks air-brushed skin (but I swear, this photo is not retouched!). I also love way she makes a high ponytail actually look sophisticated. She did a good job on the contour/blush, and I love how the same colour is on her lids under a dusting of glitter. No false lashes, just darkened, arched brows.
Mandy totally went out of her red carpet comfort zone with these glossy blackberry lips and an off-the-face hairstyle. Pairing them with the 360-degree cat eyes was a cool idea—in theory—especially with the leopard print. I just think the eyeliner liner is a little too thick underneath her eyes and needs to be right up to the waterlines. That would look less harsh.
Adriana kept it clean and simple in a neat straight hairstyle with a middle part, and barely-there makeup. Her skin is seemingly foundation-free skin, and her full lips appear to have a natural pink tone. Really, the only detectable enhancements are some brow powder and a little gold highlighter at the inner corners of her eyes.
Janelle went with her favourite signature red lipstick, but in a matte finish. Although we can't see what's going on underneath the sunglasses, her skin looks luminous. I'm loving the new short hair, especially the long bang.
Mandy Moore wasn't the only one to slick back her hair. So did Olivia here, but she wore it with bold grey smoky eyes instead of cat eyes. Black liner all the way around adds to the drama, but it's balanced by a light touch on the brows and lips. (Love that sheer pinky lip gloss!)
Ashley may be in between root touch-ups, but I don't mind this two-toned hair look, with the roots matching her eyebrows. Speaking of which, I love her brows' natural texture, and how she paired a sheer wash of pink shadow with smudgy winged liner and soft lashes. I'm also obsessed with that peachy lip colour!
Amanda did a simple ponytail, but made it exciting with not one but two pops of colour. One is on her lips—a gorgeous vibrant coral orange. The other, if you look closely, is on her eyelids—and it's an unexpected purple! Instead of false lashes or even much mascara, she relied on her bold, dark brows to frame her eyes. So good!
