Reviewed: The New Cream Blush Stick From Chanel (You Won’t Be Disappointed)

The latest addition to Les Beiges.

When Chanel came out with cream blushes a couple of years ago, it was pretty darn exciting.

But even more exciting (at least to me) is that they've just introduced cream blush in stick format, as part of the wildly popular Les Beiges collection.

Everything Les Beiges has been amazing so far—the powder, the foundation, the bronzer—and all designed to give you a sheer, healthy-looking glow. So a blush that does that as well? Why yes, I'll take one in every colour, Chanel!

Well, actually, they only sent me one of the three shades, but still. Gotta show you. Here's what you'll want to look for in store:

This is what she looks like inside, a nice fat chubby stick that's a little more slender than your NARS Multiple:

Also, way less shimmery. I can't detect any shimmer at all here, at least in the shade you're looking at, which is No. 21. It's the pinkest of the three, but not a cool pink (thankfully); it's more peachy-pink, like an elevated Chanel interpretation of NARS Orgasm without the glitter.

The other shades are No. 20, a bronze that could double as a contour, and No. 22, an orangey coral.

No shimmer in this Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick!

I love the stick format for ease of use alone, as you can apply it directly to your face, one swipe per cheek. Unlike many cheek products, it doesn't set too fast, so you've got plenty of time to perfect your blending. Obviously, you can use your fingers, but I do think you get the best result if you blend in circular motions with a brush; the result is very seamless.

You'll also notice when you hold it up to your face that the stick is delicately scented with rose. So classy, Chanel!

Here's what No. 21 looks like, unblended, on skin:

It's definitely sheer, but very buildable, which is how a cream blush stick should be. As you can see, the colour itself would suit a lot of skin tones, either buffed out if you're pale, or worn more intensely if you're on the deeper side.

It's almost like a cream-to-powder texture, gliding on very easily but then turning soft and matte, as if you were flushing from within, once you spread it out. But it doesn't leave you powdery, nor is it greasy (as are so many blushes). It just looks like a delicate flush! I found the staying power to be excellent also.

Did you know blush is super-hard to photograph on your face without looking clownish or washed-out? I was playing around with the light and this was the most representative shot I could get of how it actually looks when I wear it. (Warning: giant face shot ahead!)

I had to use my curtains to shield the light here in order to properly show off the blush! Anyway, hopefully you can appreciate how natural it looks—I really, really love it. My blending's not perfect, but it's a very forgiving product. I think it's fun to also do a little extra swipe across the nose in summer to mimic a sun-kissed look.

The Bottom Line

Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick will be your new favourite blush. Promise.

I hate it when I find an expensive product that I can't live without, but alas, I'm hooked. I really do think it's the nicest blush I own—and not just because it's Chanel (although those double Cs are real cute).

No, I love it because it's so easy to use, goes with any makeup look and gives such a flattering result, one that doesn't even look like makeup. It's perfect.
