Ask a Hairstylist: The Best Pixie Cuts for a Round Face
Q: I'm 18, and I have thick, wavy, dark brown hair. I really want to do a pixie cut like Ginnifer Goodwin's, but I'm not sure it would look good on me.
Would a different hairstyle be better? Thanks a ton! — Hannah
A: Hannah, I think you are on the right track with your haircut idea!
Cutting your hair shorter will make your eyes pop. Your current bushy hair has no real character, and hides your neck.
Your face shape, lips and eyes are so similar to Ginnifer's that I say yes, do it. Take inspiration from her makeup as well, with defined eyeliner and a strong brow:
I find this modern makeup so great for your face shape. With shorter hair, we will be seeing a lot more of it.
I am attracted to this cut for you because of the way the fringe is cut. Also, the extra hair on the top will open up your face in all the right places.
Slightly spiky looks great as well.
When you want to change things up, you can also rock a longer, side-swept fringe and wear it natural or gelled in place:

You may want to add definition to the cut by making your hair a few shades darker. This will enhance your lovely skin tone and again make your eyes pop.
Remember, eyeliner and brows with any colour lipstick or no lipstick.
