Q: I have been debating what to do with my hair for the longest time and rather than do anything... yet... I've been doing nothing except letting it grow. It is a bit longer than in this picture.
I can't decide if I should go back to shoulder-length hair and/or get bangs.
I am 5'3". I have very dark brown hair and my hair texture is healthy but 50 percent grey. I colour the roots at home every five to six weeks with a soft black to cover the grey. I eagerly look forward to your advice. — Kim
A: Hello Kim, I say yes to some long bangs and lots of layers.
You should be able to almost tuck them behind your ears.

The shaggy ends will need a texture cream to separate them.
I would continue to do your roots, but go to a hairdresser and get some warm highlights to make this style pop.
No highlights at the part, only underneath—a peek-a-boo so your touch-up will not erase them for a few colourings.
Have fun!
