The Best Skincare Products from the Violet Grey Spring Sale
Best Clarifying Serum: iS Clinical Active Serum
iS Clinical Active Serum is the brand’s bestseller and a favourite of celebs like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. It’s a lightweight serum that’s great for oily and acne-prone skin, with a unique mix of ingredients that do everything from brightening to exfoliating to cleaning the pores. There’s glycolic acid from sugar cane, lactic acid from bilberry, and salicylic acid from willow bark, plus arbutin and mushroom for evening out tone.
Best Moisturizer: Augustinus Bader The Cream
Everyone who has tried Augustinus Bader The Cream seems to love it, and for good reason. It’s super lightweight, fragrance-free and silicone-free, and gives you anti-aging benefits while it hydrates. It’s also packed with ceramides to help strengthen your skin barrier. If you’re looking to splurge, this is one of the best moisturizers!
Best Hydrating Serum: Dr. Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Serum
Yes, it’s expensive, but Dr. Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Serum is an ultra-clean, non-sticky hydrating serum that absorbs beautifully to make your skin look plump, bouncy and hydrated. What’s in this formula (the highest-quality hyaluronic acid and antioxidant-rich purslane) is just as important as what's not (silicones, fragrance and oils).
Best Body Lotion: Nécessaire The Body Lotion
For a clean body lotion, I love Nécessaire The Body Lotion because it’s lightweight but moisturizing, and made from natural ingredients like shea butter and jojoba oil. It also has niacinamide to support the skin barrier, and it’s unscented, so it won’t clash with your fragrance of choice.
Best Supplement: Agent Nateur Holi (Mane)
Agent Nateur Holi (Mane) isn’t a topical skincare product—it’s a supplement that helps you build healthy skin (and hair and nails) from within. It consists of just two ingredients, marine collagen and calcium-rich pearl powder. Both are of the highest-quality, and completely tasteless and odourless, so you can stir this powder into practically anything (I use it in lattés and smoothies). I’ve been taking this for about six months now and it is the best collagen powder I’ve tried!
Best Skincare Tool: Dermaflash Dermapore Pore Extractor & Serum Infuser
If you’re dealing with clogged pores, the Dermaflash Dermapore Pore Extractor & Serum Infuser is definitely worth your consideration. It’s an ultrasonic-powered tool that uses vibration to gently extract debris from your pores. It also has an “infuse” mode which helps to push your serums deeper into your skin (so they work even better). I recently invested in this device, and it really does work!
Best Eye Cream: Sisley Paris Sisleÿa L’Integral Anti-Age Eye & Lip Contour
The best eye cream I’ve ever used is undoubtedly Sisley Paris Sisleÿa L'Integral Anti-Age Eye & Lip Contour. But not just because it’s a luxury brand (and comes with a cool-tip massage tool). It actually targets multiple concerns, from wrinkles to puffiness to dark circles, and is deeply hydrating with zero greasiness.
Best Face Mask: Joanna Vargas Exfoliating Mask
The Joanna Vargas Exfoliating Mask is such an underrated face mask. It does a little bit of everything—it has kaolin clay to absorb grime, lactic acid and enzymes to exfoliate, and kojic acid to brighten. You can actually use this as a quick scrub, or leave it on for 15 minutes to work its glowy magic.
Best Skin Balm: Tatcha The Serum Stick
Tatcha The Serum Stick is such a genius little product, I’m always recommending it. It’s a moisturizing serum in a solid stick form, and it’s made from 80% squalane (my favourite face oil). It’s easy to pop in your purse, and you just swipe it anywhere your skin feels dry—I tend to use it around my eyes and nose, and on my lips.
Best Sunscreen: Salt & Stone Natural Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30
Salt & Stone Natural Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 deserves a spot in your beach bag this summer. It’s an ultra-clean, all-mineral sunscreen that protects with 19.6% zinc oxide, and is water-resistant for up to 80 minutes.
Best Moisturizer: Doctor Rogers RESTORE Face Cream
If you have dry skin, I recommend trying Doctor Rogers RESTORE Face Cream. This derm-developed moisturizer is a blend of squalane, shea butter, niacinamide and glycerin, and is spiked with anti-inflammatory Centella Asiatica and anti-aging adenosine. It’s also silicone-free and fragrance-free.
Best Toner: Indie Lee CoQ-10 Toner
Toner meets face mist with the Indie Lee CoQ-10 Toner, an aloe-based formula that you can spray on over or under your skincare and makeup. It’s one of my favourites because it’s alcohol-free, non-drying, and infused with antioxidants, hyaluronic acid and calming cucumber extract.
Best Eye Cream: Omorovicza Illumineye-C
Omorovicza Illumineye-C brings the brightening benefits of vitamin C to your eye area. This eye cream has a beautiful texture, and features non-irritating THD ascorbate (a vitamin C derivative) along with wrinkle-fighting retinaldehyde, hyaluronic acid and vitamin E. (And if you haven’t tried this brand, it is actually one of my all-time favourites for luxury clean beauty!)
Best Micellar Water: Bioderma Sensibio H2O
My skincare collection is never without a bottle of Bioderma Sensibio H2O, the cult-favourite French pharmacy micellar water. Even on sensitive types, this gentle but hardworking solution removes every trace of makeup without causing irritation. Now is a good time to stock up, when it’s on sale!
